My Fireflies...

Statuary Warning: This is my first blog and it is totally dedicated to those seven girls who made my life worth living in a godforsaken part of india. So people who can't relate to this stuff..sorry i cant do much about it .

It has been a few years since i left college.I have a nice job and a much nicer boyfriend and everything seems to be the way it should be, so I never really had the time to miss the things that i 'had' and don't 'have' any more. Yet it so happened one lazy sunday afternoon that the radio played OUR song. The song that was our anthem, the song by which we swore never to have a boyfriend and it is so ironic that everyone of us have had one by now.
It is so weird that we experience a myriad of emotions by a thing as trivial as a song. Every thing seems to have happened just yesterday and yet it has been so so long. Every girl in this world deserves respect, deserves an awesome guy who loves her in every way possible (pun intended!),
deserves to be independent, deserves  a large solitaire diamond too! But more than anything else, every girl deserves a gang..yes, you heard me right, a gang of girls, not a group but a gang.
What is the difference you may dare to ask? Yes, again you heard me right, asking me something is a daring task because even I belong to a gang.
So the difference might be quite clear. A gang of girls has guts as well as grace, they can be sweet yet sexy...
In short they can be anything they want to be.
Having friends of the opposite gender is fun and in some ways better too..because there is less drama but having an out and out girlie group is anyday better and there are a zillion of reasons for it. First, you can shop endlessly without someone making bored faces all the time. Second reason is that you can wear seven different dresses all through the week and yet own none of them! Third, You can choose not to go to an outing because you are down without having to fake a headache and i know any guy who would be reading this has not understood it even now.
Apart from the fun part, a girl gang is food for the soul. They understand you, though sometimes you have to shout to make them understand but most of the times it is just the look in your eyes and you dont need words. Those silent moments on the terrace, when no one speaks a word yet every soul is being comforted by the presence of another. You cherish all those times, all through your life when inspite of you being at fault you group fought for you, stood by your side and when everything was over kicked your butt too!
Girl friends will always understand the pain of not finding the right dress for a certain occassion and having to wear something which you have already worn to a few places, the pain of gaining weight inspite of eating less and even the pain of not gaining weight inspite of eating loads. You cant explain a guy why you bought something which you didnt want but bought it none the less because you got a huge discount.
There are so many things that you can enjoy only and only if you have an awesome gang of girls. Bitchy gossips are just a tiny part of it but if you see the larger picture, your gang defines what kind of woman you will transform into. They tell you right from wrong when your sense of judgement is blurred with emotions or even stupidity/arrogance. They warn you if you are falling for the wrong guy and if you are still stupid enough to do it and get hurt, they dont judge you but instead they hold you tight and all those things that you share when you are vulnerable, always remain a secret. Another thing that you can be sure of about your gang is that your guy is safe! Nobody will ever hit on him even if you guys break up, unless you have super despo people around you which in that case isnt a gang. The bond that you create always remains strong even if you dont talk often. Its like wine..the older..the better and You dont create a gang, you earn it. I have...
So ladies, this one was for you all... for all the things that you have done and for everything that you havent(Thank god!)..
